It makes up the southernmost tip of the island of Barbados and is also one of the biggest parishes at 57 square kilometers (22 square miles). Christchurch is also the first impression of Barbados that most visitors get as they step out of the Grantley Adams International Airport. Unlike the eastern and northern portions of the island, the south coast is extremely busy, densely packed with tourists and locals, and offers a very urban experience.
